Performance is a mechanic in Avatar Mod 2 which rewards players for performing well in combat. A player's performance is represented as a number starting at 0, which is visible in the top-right corner of the screen. It can be increased by dealing damage to opponents, but is decreased by taking damage. Once one's performance reaches a high enough number - usually around 80 - the player will receive buffs or heals depending on their Bending Style.
Keep in mind that performance, similar to Power Ratings, only is a temporary score designed for one battle. It will slowly reset towards 0 over time.
Depending on the player's main Bending Style, they will receive different rewards for reaching a high enough performance:
- Airbending: Depending on the current performance, chi will regenerate up to 67% faster than normal. However, negative performance values can result in chi regeneration at a rate of 33% slower than usual.
- Earthbending: The player will receive short-lived damage resistance effects.
- Firebending: The player will be rewarded with small health regeneration.
- Waterbending: Performance rewards are the best for this element, as players can receive both substantial damage resistance and health regeneration effects.
